1968年、ノーザン・パシフィック鉄道は貨車数両に、アメリカの貯蓄国債の宣伝として3色塗装を施した。その様子はこのモデルとは少し異なり、床下も台車も赤色だった。また。再計量年月の77年3月は、明らかな間違い。1972年に撮影された実車の写真がRailfan.ntにある。

　このモデルはブルーボックス時代の製品。完成品RTRでもアサーンから発売されている（車番NP 31573、品番7071）。

In 1968, the NP decorated some of the 31000's with such patriotic scheme. The underframe and the trucks were painted all red, and the roof walk was removed. In this model, the reweighed date (LT 3-77) is certainly incorrect. Prototype photo is there in Railfan.net taken in 1972.
