In 1967 the National Steel Car Corporation (NSC, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) started building 70 ton 50' box cars specifically designed for shipping rolls of newsprint paper from paper mills in Canada to newsprint campanies throughout North America. Total of 3,592 cars wre manufactured between 1967 and 1971 for six railways. The cars have inside height of 11' enabling newsprint rolls to be loaded in two tiers. The NAC cars in 1967 were the first for specifically for shipping newsprint.
CP 80967-81216 4-67 Hydora-Cushion付はCNの400両とこれだけ。これはカナダ国内向け、輸出にはCPIとCNISのリポーティングマークを使う。このドアは1969年以降。1978年以前はMD&W車。ACFのFreight-Saver付。1988年にCPが買い取り、リポーティング・マークCPAAとしたという。
台車中心間隔が38'-10"と40'-8"の2種類で、モデルは選べる。CP車は前者、MD&W車は後者。
